A Poem by JL Jacobs
"

This poem was inspired. I sat here thinking about all the things that we all take for granted, myself included, and what we would do if those things didn't exist.

"

If the sun didn't rise, and the winds didn't blow, There would be no sunsets, and no breeze to bestow. If there was no falling rain, no moon's light to glow, There would be no crops to farm, and no evening light would show. If there were no oceans, we'd have no fish. If there was no water, then thirst would persist. If there were no deserts, there would be no sand. If there was no soil, then we'd have no land. If there were no men, then we'd have no life. For without a man, there could be no wife. If there weren't any stars, glowing up in the sky. There would be no wishes, for God to supply. If there weren't any rainbows, and no flowers around, there'd be no pretty colors, and not a bloom would be found. If there were no people, there would be no life. If there wasn't any animals, then with hunger we'd pay the price. The things we take for granted, all of nature and our lives. Take a moment to reflect... I just want you to realize. We are blessed with so many of life's little things. We take so much for granted, like the renewals that come in Spring. Be thankful for what we have, and the fact we're even alive. Because without all these blessings, we wouldn't be able to survive. But what if all these things really didn't exist? Then all of life's blessings, would surely be missed. So be thankful we're alive, and let nature run it's course. appreciate what you're given, so there will be no remorse.

Great wisdom in your words.
"So be thankful we're alive,

appreciate what you're given,

Old age had taught me. Be thankful for the gifts of love shared and family near. I liked the flow of thoughts leading to good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

A beautiful poem with a wonderful message. Really, what if...there would be nothing to see, nothing to love and nothing to be. Really nice.
