A mother's questions upon the birth of her daughter.

The birth of my baby,

who will she be?

Will she grow up happy,

be kind and caring?

Is she to be pretty,

on the outside and within?

Will she be honest,

or live a life of sin?

Wealthy or poor,

hardworking or lazy?

Will she be calm,

or drive me crazy?

Will she get married,

have children of her own?

Or will she be single,

only to die all alone?

I wonder all of these questions,

as I look down upon her face.

This tiny little newborn girl,

that I hold within my embrace.
