Leave It All Behind

Leave It All Behind

A Poem by Joey Nizz

I was lost and absent
You were the only one who was fearful and afraid
But no one gave a damn or even gave you an ear to listen
Because simply, no one really cared

When I woke, it was nothing but a dream
What I felt and saw was nothing but a nightmare that's what it seemed
When I'm gone, what am I leaving?
When i'm not here

When you finally confront me
This what needs to be known

When my day comes
Forget every mistake that I've done
Just help and leave a a simple memory of me to come
Of reasons to be missed
Don't hold a grudge and resent me
When the day comes and you start feeling hallow and empty
Just remember me and keep me in your memory
And just forget and leave it all behind

Don't worry, don't be afraid
I've taken my falls and my beating
I've shown and shared what I have made
I may look hard and strong on the surface
But its not all the way in through
Things never have been perfect not even was I perfect
But neither have you

Forget everything and forget the pain inside
The pain you've mastered to mask so well
Always pretending someone would come
And save me from myself
I can't be the same as you are

I've taken my falls and my beating
I've shown and shared what I have made." Very powerful Zen poetic battle with reality and then settle for what experiences and life has made you into, In other words, the mind cannot act without giving up the impossible attempt to control itself in winds of changing. "Forget everything and forget the pain inside
The pain you've mastered to mask so well." The latitude of clashing against what you've accept without fail of disobedience of "concealment" how the weights are bothersome yet in the end useful as armor against the world and whatever tries to break through. Alan watts said once " What it would be like you went to sleep and never woke up again,, think about that something will happen to you if you think long and hard on it. Then it will pose the next question: What it was like to wake up and never go to sleep? It was then you were born. Keep writing sincerely your friend in writing and life :)

thank you very much and im glad that you can relate.
I think about that person lost in fear and pain, too afraid to turn the corner until five little fingers weave across their own and fear gives way to hope.
