Sweet SoulA Poem by J ShawFor a girl I never knew but felt a hole in my soul for. I dedicate this poem to her.
Sweet Soul
With wings of gold A crown, of which she well knows Pain, she never seemed to show Kept some grievances at bay Though I never knew what to say And what was said - I wish I could've comforted her instead But we say things when we know the pain Of what it's like standing in the rain If we could know better instead And think of what should've been said We wouldn't have kept it locked inside Sweet Soul, in your absence we look to find Something to that of your radiant smile The one who lights the day for miles Oh, I can only say I'm sorry I was that way And God, if only you could stay Keep the peace when you fly so high And touch some clouds for us in the sky Your Sweet Soul, which reigns the day I wish it never had to be this way © 2022 J Shaw |
