When The Circle Divides

When The Circle Divides

A Poem by Jacky Bones

Always running in circles
Pullen the hairs of my chin when I shave
I shave these days to thin
Don't know when the night ends or begins
But at least I know you're sleepen

Always running in circles
You begin to lose track of peoples faces
  Especially your own
Cant find a reason to live not a trace
When you pass by/ you'll be nothen more
Than a ghost/ in a corner blown by

Always running in circles
I'm always running in these circles
I'm Always running
   Always running
                                 Always

Always running in circles
I Approach an intersection

All who wonder may not be lost, but I
find the decision harder than the path and
get so lost at the stop

I like how you take the running in circles idea and work it into the movement of the poem. The stanza and line lengths all convey that idea. The language you use, your word choices, your images...they all bring us back to the circle. These were my favorite lines: "Always running in circles/You begin to lose track of peoples faces/ Especially your own." They show that is possible to blur our identity while trying to make sense of the world. Also, nice allusion/variation on the line from Tolkien in that last stanza.
