I already wrote it down. Its a conversation between lovers.

A Poem by Jacky Bones

M. I am a bird afraid of heights, I am afraid of everything

R. But you are the king of spades

M. My longevity lays in my feet

R.That run with the rhythm of a thousand pounding beats

M. My skin has gotten week from the cold nights

R.But the stars shine, they are the sun

M.My eyes are filled with ghosts. They crawl on my fingers

R.Trapped behind the cages leaking on the keys

M.We chase colors like we chased snow days

R.Racing the trains and subways

M.To places we thought we knew in past pictures. The ones of me and you

R.They stay, those paintings murals are the memoirs

M.Memories to see each others eyes for light travels in time the time we used to pray for brighter days and longer nights

R.Those eyes they hold me close like the prose and rose you gave me. The warmth of the words that burn and fuel this fire

M.If my words are the fuel yours are the exchange of matter and energy. Ill whisper truths to you in the hopes you’ll continue to always warm me

R.And I’ll continue to change adapting to the ebb and flow of the tides. Moving with the moon sure of your immovable earth

M.When you twirl and side step to and from me i make ever small moments in repeat to get the perfect alignment of our feet

R.That match the dancing of our hearts. The steady rhumba for the tango. My soul beating out quicksteps. Keep up and slow me down

M. A quick step for a slow man my heart has two left shoes but no feet but i cant let you do it alone so I’ll try my best to not drag you down when I slip and fall

R.I’ll gladly stop and pick you up. Kiss it to be better. Start from the top and take it slow. You  can learn the steps as we go. Teach me how you want to move

M.When I stop to see time stands still as i stand in your eyes and you in mine i am a flat note and you are a symphony

R.The conductor to my meager sound. You direct what little there is of me. This quartet of broken strings. You have me sing your  melody

M.Your strings may be broken but when you play you bring the devil to his knees

R.By your. Coercion I play softly and unsure playing only by the wave of your baton. Guiding me out to the minds of masses. slow as molasses your honey drags me out. Kicking and screaming to sing to you and I am broken no more

M.And these minds you left each more blessed then the last for you have shown their souls

R.Because of you, our melody flies combing with lyrics as old as age. Your words that inspire and hold true

M.But i am only glitter and you are the glue

R.Fine then. you’re glitter glue. They sell it at longs

This is pretty interesting. I really love your writing and the ending is perfect.
In my head, the lines match two people dancing, and every 4th line pulls them apart, and they return on the 5th. I love poems that leave a picture. The last line is just a bow.

brillliant. As if we could hear the silent conversation that two hearts in love carry on.
