Shivers

Shivers

A Poem by Your Perfect Disaster

How do you put into words
The innocence of young love?

Sneaking out on a Saturday night?
3 am and all alone

But sex is the last thing on our minds.

Three words
Greater than any other
form of pleasure
        this messed up world
Has to offer.

Three words
That make me shiver
     With fear
And quiver with anxiety

Three words that tear me
apart
Rip
Me
Open

At the seams.

Three words and a month inbetween
To numb the pain
And substitute pleasure...
