Miss Popularity

Miss Popularity

A Poem by SuicidePact.

I’m the leader of the pack

The wearer of the skirt

Girl who fear me

Girls who want to be me.

I have admirers from a far,

I don’t even know who they are.

They’ll never find the courage,

To tell me that they love me,

They wish they were above me.

People say I’m a dream,

I’m the leader of the school team.

But nobody takes the time,

Don’t want to know what’s on my mind.

Is it worth being the on top?

Worth having no real friends?

I don’t want the perfect picture,

Just want you to see me for who I am.

Is there anybody out there?

Anyone willing to be my friend?

very nice work, i do like the ending of your poem in the last three lines:
"Just want you to see me for who I am.
Is there anybody out there?
Anyone willing to be my friend?"

that is extremely emotive and i find it to be a very different perspective on the popular figure of society.

A facinating assessment of popularity and surface image. The Top Dog is often despised by others, especially the media, based upon social pressures and surface misperception. To view from the other point of view is braver than you may be aware. A craking work that rattles on at a veritable pace. I loved it.
