Nightmares

The stairs feel like they

     Slope ever downwards

         Though I geuss they must

             Come back up, given time

 

  But then                     they fall away

  And send                     you plummeting

  Through                      an empty hole

  And as the                   light at the end

  Of your                       tunnel dims

You wake up.
