A Poem by Jake Staffeld

The gun goes off
The alarm clock sounds
Sprinting for the finish line
Getting up for another day

Run as fast as you can
Stumbling down the hall
Passing the other racers
Passing things you would rather not see

Round the last corner
Enter this last door
100 meters left
100 seconds left

A little short, but very good. I agree with the other readers, some extra description would be nice.

Very dark and depressing.

I'm not sure if I understand what's happening in this poem. It sounds good though. It's a little vague.

Great write! I do though, feel like something is missing, whether it be an explanation or maybe a bit more "mood words" or emotion. It is well done, however. :)
