The physics of love and loss

The physics of love and loss

A Poem by Jake Staffeld

Do you know what love is?

It's not quantifiable

A physicist would call it fundamental

I'll just say

That it's what I gave you everyday

They seemed like such good times

I was bursting with joy

The Sun burned a little brighter

And all was fine

Until that day

When you decided t do an experimant

On the physics of love and loss

And left me behind

I'd always been told that blood ran red

But I'm not sure

That it isn't blue anymore

Sounds like you might have to be

A biologist, too

I love this (: It's really powerful, and the metaphor is brilliant.

I really liked this one :) Creative, powerful, and expressive. Great job!
The first stanza is beautiful...

"Do you know what love is?
It's not quantifiable
A physicist would call it fundamental
I'll just say
That it's what I gave you everyday"
Truly a remarkable statement :)
