Utopia

Utopia

A Poem by Jake Staffeld

You can not crush us
We will continue to struggle
Until we have independence
As defined by us

We are the future
We won't be forever
But we're next at bat
And we choose the game

We don't pick War
We disdain your Famine
We'll stop your Disease
Even Death will be weakened

When we're done
Your disasters will be dispersed
We will give our children not
Your Hell
But our
Utopia

My favorite word Utopia. When I was a kid in 1970. The year 2000. We would be working 32 hours a week. Music and literature would be the goal of all. No more wars and hate support to be gone. My generation did a s****y job. I hope you do better. I have seen the world become worst. How to fix? I believe would be easy. USA spend more money on war then the next 40 countries combine. We spend 1.2 trillion on war. 1.2 trillion could get free education for all. Insure all people have food and a bed. I pray for Utopia for you and my children/grand children. A outstanding poem.
