Take what we need

Take what we need

A Poem by Jake Staffeld
"

I felt like writing something different. So I wrote this, it's about being a thief.

"
Cruising down life
Taking what we need
We know it's wrong
But it's so much fun
To feel the adrenaline

No one cares what we do
As long as the impact isn't on you
You could care less too
Break a window
Take what we need

Riots are our best friends
Black market just too fun
We try to stop
Then give up the ghost
And go rob the next store

Let the music play
In your brand new Porsche
Where'd you get it from?
I might just like my own
This is what we do
Take what we need

Sell it off again
Profit to the max
When you pay nothing
In the first place
So we take what we need
And get everything we want

Excellent write Jake.. this is a deeper poem than just that of a thief, imho. For me, it is a metaphor for anyone in life taking what they want regardless of who gets hurt or who cares. Definitely thought-provoking and a great political/cultural read.
