Rock Gardens

Rock Gardens

A Poem by James William Dyer
"

This poem is about the restrictions of relationships, the confinement of love, and how there can be beauty in that....but not much.

"

Those were lullaby moments we had,

Pretending as we did those rocking chair thoughts,

Those tending-the-gardens-late-in-life thoughts.

Those rock garden thoughts are stones impinged in the soil;

They never release the plants to their own pattern.

The stone confines of a prison,

Ringed around a tree and made pretty.

A prison of flowers made to sit nice.

~ well... love needs a lot of skillful handling and deep understanding to survive and then flourish too... it's not easy but it is simple... is my personal opinion... despite that i think this piece is very expressive and vivid... the title is exceptional too...
