PRIDE...

PRIDE...

A Poem by Jamestown
"

Spiritual

"
Oh, that pride is what got you thrown out,
that pride, is what made God's wrath come about,

Oh, that pride is what brought upon judgment,
that pride, is what made you plummet,

Oh, that pride lies and lies,
that pride, is the cause of your demise,

Oh, that pride is so false,
that pride, has absolutely no pulse,

Oh, that pride made you think you were clever,
that pride, is what got you banished forever,

Oh, that pride is what God hates the most,
that pride, is the reason you will eternally roast,

You fool! At one time you were 2nd in command,
literally just below God's righteous right hand,
and that pride made you interfere with with his perfect plan,

Oh, that pride and jealousy is what did you in,
and I must admit, I can't wait to watch you end!!!

Jamestown,
Your author's note really says it all' Pride will not bring honor to the Lord!. We are so often tempted with the core being pride. Self glory holds onto pride. Selfishness has pride as it's throne. Pride will whisper you don't need God. thank you very much for writing, "PRIDE" As a Christ follower I must remember this life is not about me but Jesus Christ............Kathy.

I agree fully! Thanks for checking it out and b-blessed!
I really like the repitition of 'Oh, that pride' and the way your lines build up decrease in length allowing for pace throughout the poem. I enjoyed the poem and reinforcement of the dangers of pride linking in with the original biblical message of sin and the shortcomings it leads to.

Welcome friend, Same to you.
If I can be funny, this would be the worst pre game speech to give to a bunch of high school Varsity football players.

On the honest side and more human side. It reminds me of something Grant might have said to his men before he took the South.

Wisdom, humanity, vanity all in one speech that inspires.

That is funny, thanks for review.
I agree with your words. Pride blinds you from doing the right things. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
