Death's New Cat

Death's New Cat

A Poem by Jamie Starlight
"

I had this Idea when my beloved little friend Purrs passed away July 27th of last year. I never could quite bring myself to write it at the time, however It stuck with me for months and here it is.

"

Brittle chipping claws

Dulled pelt exposing feeble bones

Excruciating hobbles on scraggy paws

Meows turned into agonizing moans

Tears collected under cat’s eyes

Mourning his end with sea green lackluster

All who held vigil agonized

Death reaped the soul like a harvester

The newly deceased feline lives with death

In an everlasting cottage surrounded by endless forest

Mist surrounds the river of Lethe

The cat laps at the water turning the past to dust

Death soon spoils his new friend

The feline loses his deathly anatomy

Death brought the cats pain and suffering to an end

Death’s cat forever lived handsomely
