Homeward Bound

Homeward Bound

A Poem by Johnny A. Rojas

Being away from the one you left behind…the one that now you realized you loved all alone

I look at the reflection

Of my life in my mind

And I see the hesitation

That I had that night

Filters of doubt

A sense that I knew how

But all I seemed to do

Was run away from you

You are alone

I’m coming back home

By your side

I feel safe and warm

You are alone

No need to wonder

Cause I’m coming home

You are alone

Come let me get you

I’ll walk a mile plus

Just to be by your side

Silent steps I’ll take

To reach your heart

In a moment of relaxation

I will bring jubilation

In a world of decay

My love you’ll cherish

I’m homeward bound

Back to my home town

A 180 in my spiraling life

A number that together

We will bring back down to one
