Red Window

Red Window, Red Window open up your pane.

To let out the pain, of a girl once slain.

Red Window, Red Window bring in the light.

How do you bring light from this frostbitten night.

Red Window, Red Window who saw the father.

Of the girl once slaughtered, and blood gone cold.

Red Window, Red Window bring back the life.

Of a loving wife, and a caring daughter.

Red Window, Red Window who saw the man.

Knife in his hand, slowly going up the stairs.

Red Window, Red Window who saw the blood.

Body dragged through the mud, on flower buds.

Red Window, Red Window where did they go?

Red Window, Red Window

A very dark poem. It was a tad creepy that you send this to me at random. The play on the children's game made it all the darker. The repetition nails in the eerie feeling. I applaud this piece.

A good repetition and dark poem! It's like a horor movie!

Very good indeed, and although it may seem conceited to recommend your own poem to further readers, I think you were justified in doing so. The picture that is painted here and the flashing images of what led to the circumstance, coupled with the telling motif of the red window really have a potency and poignancy that leaves the reader with a powerful impression, macabre and Gothic though it may be.

Red windows seems to know alot about this gruesome muder and evil deed which took place in this excellent poem.Crimson Glass might have been a much better name for this poem. Some verses were a little forced but on the whole i liked it.

A strong and powerful poem. Your words create a vision of blood and pain. I like the repetition with the words. I like this poem. A set-up for a scary story. A excellent poem.
