I Had No One

A Poem by Jasnil Chand

It's a simple poem about being lonely and having no one to share with

I really needed a shoulder.
I knew crying made me bolder.
I looked around the empty room.
How do I share this and with whom?
I needed someone with lending ears.
So, whatever I said the person hears.

I would let my heart out to him or her.
Hoping later I could go very very far.
At my time of need I had no one.
I was there for everyone, not done.
Fakers will say it will be alright.
Those who know me will say cry with all your might.

You may feel you have lost the fight.
In the hour of darkness I need a light.
Silently sitting still.
Slowly my eyes with tears start to fill.
I stand up and brush away my tears.
I am alone in this fight let me get my gears.

I Am Svetlana

Some days, we have to be our own hero. It's not healthy keeping all of your feelings deep inside, we all need someone to lend an ear, give us advice...to give us some sort of support and hope to believe in. That's how writing has really helped me in times of being lonely, it has been that friend for me...the one I need most when I have no one...I can tell them anything and everything, not being judged in the process about whatever it is I am feeling at the time. This write alone is very powerful and inspiring. I love it!

I kinda love it 'coz I can basically relate with it. I've learned to fight on my own and I've been in my darkest time alone. It sucks when the people you needed the most are the ones who was never there for you. So you decided to wear your armor and chose to be strong. I'm glad you cried too, it's not a sign of weakness but a manifestation that you have a heart :)
