This is actually really personal cause I lost my friendship because people judge when a girl and guy are best friends. I had to distance myself so that she could continue her relationship with her guy

I backed out.
I could not tolerate because he used to shout.
At someone like you
Who'd cheer me up when I felt blue.
Why was I misunderstood?
I would change things if I could.

A guy and girl cannot be bestfriends.
Love comes in between, that's not how it ends.
He felt insecure we were close
If he did not get it, who will who knows?
For your happiness I had to back down
I'll never forgive myself for giving you a frown.

Never will I shut you out my dear.
I write this as on my cheek slides a tear.
I asked you to be happy without me.
But I know you won't be as you used to be.
But do not fear.
No matter how long after, I will always be here.

I Am Svetlana

Reading this, I can relate on a personal level cause I had a good guy friend in highschool and every relationship he had came between that. People knew I had feelings for him, but many people tried to tear us apart...I try getting in touch with him nowadays, but his girlfriend is too controlling and shuts me out of his life. It's sad when good friendships are torn apart just cause others get jealous or choose their partners over who they've been friends with longer. I really admired this cause it spoke such a truth which hit home for me. Great job!
