Immortals

Immortals

A Poem by Jason Shadows
"

Yet The Song To Immortality.

"
"Time - my greatest friend
 and my greatest enemy.

Racing the grim reaper to fold
the past to please these ghosts.

 Wake the night and shadows
form my soul into lights weapon.

Darkness - rolls off my dry tongue
blistering to taste the lustful rain.

Wet and dry my heart fuels my fire
walking with chaos as my side kick.

Hoping this night ends with a bang
reaching into the air for adrenaline.

 Blood races down our faces
while the skies rage with death.

The moment of victory lies within
 the mountain covers our backs.

One way in - no way out this time
we stand ready to fight the demons.

Curve the thought of escaping into
 desperations desire to block failure.

Hold tight and ride on into the inevitable
step by step we march into the dark.

Battle scars and battle cries sings
 the anthem of the immortals.

//Death is our general and hope our wings
what are we 'immortal' - we are 'immortals'.

Sing along with fear near we become the spear
dance with the dead and put lead in their head.

What are you 'immortal' what are we 'immortals'."

Profound and in a moving way. Your sentiments are exotic in my opinion. You sew words together in a riveting way.
