Chains Of Hope

Chains Of Hope

A Poem by Jason Shadows
"

Drags The Immortal Soul.

"
"Our arms rest on the fence of disbelief
when tragedy plays its haunting melody.

 Sadness stands beside me whispering
all is lost when despair walks in my heart.

Walking under doubt sinks my thoughts
as the echo of grief reclaims my mind.

 Darkness...she kisses me silently smiling
as her twin ignites her own light in my soul.

I speak the words of misery with tears
by removing the after glow of torment.

Sanitarium holds my dreams after sleep
as the flow of secrets i keep poke me.

Remember me they speak in riddles deep
holding my own chains of hope i cry asleep.

She holds my love within the realm of no return
so i must step into what i never wanted.

The dark stores away any light that holds
my intentions for a dream to awake again.

Holding her within my arms i cannot sleep
for if i do she will fade within the next dawn."

Tremendous feeling in this. Pain and suffering. "The flow of secrets I keep poke me" Hmm... Why keep secrets from your love? The only way for any relationship to work is by telling the truth. Trust me, it always comes out in the end. Most likely the woman already knows but she's being polite and waiting for her love to come clean... Of course, the window of opportunity to do that varies by woman! Thoughtful writing that shows a vulnerability and passion, stirring this reader
