Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Just Jayren

Turning my nose up at the ludicrous notion of

‘Splendid Isolation’

Hours spent in unnecessary limbo

Picking up extra shifts for seemingly mundane reasons

Investing my wage in a jar labelled ?

Hands feeling lost

Home feeling soulless

Disembodied by the concept of breathing

Empty photo frames locked away in storage

Days, weeks flow endlessly

Seeking solace in sleepless nights

And caffeine fuelled mornings

Music’s lost its potent purpose

With no suitable replacement in sight

Fading in and out of others perception with

Nothing really engrained into memory

Inevitable displacement of a disillusioned  character

Aptly complex as it seems only the cleverest people have existential problems :P Maybe that's just wild speculation - but I liked this poem and thought it well written. Thanks!

Dazed. Endless. Lonely. Hopeless. But it's still pretty powerful to me, that expression of yourself, your lonely feelings. I feel this way sometimes. I like it, thanks for sharing. :D

Sounds like this is coming from the point of view of someone introverted. Unable to or unwilling to really be on the same level as others. A loner maybe? An interesting write for sure. :)

You are welcome :)
To my cousin over an Ocean, I ask if there was something behind this, the words had a direction I am curious of. You call it what you like, but this emotion must have had a direction, as a ship would of the wind, i liked it, but there must be more?

Yes there is... However I wouldn't say there was a feeling of direction more in the case of a lack o.. read more
Nicely written, you have captured that mundane feeling of everyday routine in your writing, that feeling of just being fed up with yourself and the things around you. Great work!

Cheers, now that you've mentioned it I can see how the interpretation can lead to such conclusion.
"Fading in and out of others perception with

This has great depth and captures the emotions of solitude so very well. So many, to many, are experiencing this because people have become so disposable. We don't value ourselves or those around us. Like always, well done...xo

There is a low point in our lives when we get lost in our own "disillusion", and it can be daunting...

I felt the loneliness of your "solitude".... a pain so deeply embedded in the isolation of your own mind...

Well penned, Jayren~xoxo~
