Enjoy the Smoke and Smile

Enjoy the Smoke and Smile

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

Saw you in the trees.
A voice from a lost dream.
Crazy as it may be.
Nothing's ever as it seems.
Are you confused yet?
Could hardly even tell.
The glass is broken.
Brand new kinds of hell.
Do you remember it?
The way things once were.
How innocents are destroyed.
How time becomes a blur.
Would you like to forget?
Smuldering in this pit.
Observing as we sit.
Just take another hit
When the time is right.
We could end the fight.
Peace is out of sight.
Fire reached new heights.
Maybe we'll be fine.
Maybe its the burn we like.
From ashes breeds new life.
Breathe in the smoke and sigh.
