Things to be remembered

Things to be remembered

A Poem by Robert Luna
"

This is my valentine poem for my wife. This is my memory of the night I told her I loved her for the first time.

"

Her tears ran white against ivory flections of her skin

Moonlight’s capturing of reflective silhouettes

A beautiful contrast of white on white

Her lips parted with the intent to speak

but the words remained forgotten whispers

Her silences said it all

In the morning we'll mourn the passing of this moment

The fleeting intercourse of our minds

As words entangle within

Two parts becoming one

In the wake of all that has been said

I’m nervous

Exposed and naked

The smell of cold, steals my breath

Steel-eyed glares of a million stars play witness

But this night has just begun

Wanting to write out the words

But I can’t remember all that I wanted to say

I told myself to hold on to these moments

before they pass us by

There’s reason to believe we’ll be able to get past the past

The failed attempts to find happiness

It’s what her eyes say

that words could never convey

The way she looks at me

Seeing a man that wants her to be his everything

Beautiful! You are both lucky to have each other. Her to have a man who feels this way about her, and you that you have a woman who makes you feel like this. I envy you both my friend.
This picture you paint with words is perfection, just as the words you chose are as well.

Seeing a man that wants her to be his everything

That one line says it all. That one little line at the very end of the piece is the real heart of your words.

really wonderful....the perfect valentine gift. Change "well" -to "we'll mourn the passing of this moment" and you've got yourself a perfectly beautiful tribute to love.

Wow i know you are not one to write love poetry but when you do the love really shines... the eternal love for your wife is shown with great beauty. You had better show her this.

I commented on your blog but wanted to add it here also. I also wanted to see what pic you added. I love it, really fits.

"In the morning well mourn the passing moment"... "Steel-eyed glares of a million stars play witness"... "The failed attempts to find happiness"... I love these. This one really got my ol' romantic heart.

aw, Robert. It is a worthy gift to the woman you love. Beautiful, heart-felt words are worth more than empty gestures any day. I wish you both a special Valentine's Day together.
