Sonnet 7 (Shakespearean Style)

Sonnet 7 (Shakespearean Style)

A Poem by Jeff Miller

Hark! ‘Tis fact you and I are meant to be

Even more than famous Adam and Eve

Alas, we are each other’s destiny,

Beautiful, you are the reason I breathe.

I cannot avert my eyes, I must stare

I let myself exhale a quiet sigh

Beauty such as yours is so very rare

I see Fate’s twinkle in your hazel eyes.

But, at least now you are my own lover

My attempts to win your heart succeeded

Alas, we shall never love another;

A fairy tale love was discovered.

  All the old stories of love cannot seem

  To describe our love, a heart’s only dream.
