Sonnet 25

Sonnet 25

A Poem by Jeff Miller

Baby, I want to hold you in my arms

And, My Sarah, I want to hold you tight,

Until the rooster does sound his alarm,

'Tis the only time ev'rything feels right.

When your hair head is pressed against my chest,

Each tender taken breath raises my hand,

With arms wrapped around, placed under your breasts.

I'll hold you 'til the 'glass is out of sand.

But, unfortunately, time will run out,

No matter how many actions we make,

And no matter how much our souls do pout;

But, one of us, Untimely Death, shall take.

  So, my love, let us savor ev'ry day,

  Before one of us is taken away.
