Chasing My Tail

Chasing My Tail

A Poem by Pure Hope
"

A Piece on Paranoia (without using the word)

"

Intricacies surround my circumstances-

Creating shadows of frustrations and shady mistaken
identities, allowing my mind to fall prey to
an internally fixed skepticism.
So I constantly keep an eye on my
shifty, sinister surroundings
and the miniscule questionable changes
each moment brings without notice.
Thoughts rattling, shuttling back and forth

in my brain, tough questions, no answers,

branching out into more implausible ruminating.

Or could this all be planned?

Is it the man from Washington or higher?

Bilderberg watching over my poetry

to see if I am benign or
bordering on the edge of sanity.
Aliens from light years away

ready to take over Earth.
Higher intelligence wins and our demise.

Catching my life's breath-
my blood's pulse throbs slower,
the room no more spinning,
mind's eye leveled out.

Cautiously careful

I guardedly sneak to my fortress:
Where watchful eyes shall stay skeptical and wary

of the underhanded, suspicious,
incredulous, and corrupt.

You have a wonderful way of presenting the unknown experience, in a turn of the wrist, from the way that you may have related to it knowingly before. I think it means you no longer fear it but figure it as much wants to know you as you want to understand it.

Where we are coming from a position in which others related to us, it would be a new experience to discover that we may have to start on a practice of relating to others as well. The start is awful but it does get better. Great write.

In that case I didn't write it for you, but for the person who does. You obviously speak for them.
