Deep Breathing

Deep Breathing

A Poem by Jennifer Elizabeth

Inhalation,
pure elation.

Don't undervalue meditation.

Vacation from the medication
and numbness of reality.

Troubles double when you fumble
with what you can't control

Fill your lungs with love
& nothing less,
but nothing more than breath

Let everything go
& all that's left
is you,

and then you're whole.

Enjoyed the playful spirit here.
A serious subject matter tooken with the gentle nudge of happiness--
makes a person want to fill their lungs with love.
Oh yes, I liked the catchey rhythm as well.

ah yes, perfect! great idea for a subject, I can see myself, sitting in a yoga class and the instructor says to only concentrate on breathing... and here's where your those go... did that make sense? I've on;y one hand to type, as my infant daughter lays in the other and I hear her breathing. Great rhyme and rhythm, imitating breathing, of course... great onomatopoeia of lines 6-7, it does sound like I'm tripping, "nothing less... nothing more" yes! it is that powerful, both love and breath, and that simple! Enjoyed this!

Very wise advice! Short and sweet but well penned and definitely worth the read.

Now that is about the most sane advice I have come across in a long time. I like the way this kind of wanders around in my head after reading it. Love the structure and the feel of this. Kudos and bravo.
