In the Line of Duty

In the Line of Duty

A Poem by Gigglez
"

Just a bit of work about our "boys in blue."

"
"Hello, sir"
we have all said,
once or twice; when
a cop walks up
to our car.

"Hello," He
usually says
back in a stoic
and stuffy way.

But then it all
starts to go wrong,
with the asking of
unimportant
and nosy questions.

"Why is your
window not all
the way down?"
"Because I can
hear you fine."

It goes back and forth,
like this for a while
until I am
detained and
hassled by
others like him,
while they
violate my
inalienable rights
to privacy.

And for no
real reason
other than
my window
not being
down all
the way.

All at a check point,
originally for drunks.
