I’ve been running from myself

Covered with make-up, changed my name

I didn’t want to wear my reflection

I didn’t want to be the same

 

I don’t know why this deception

Is just now coming to life

But I’m sorry for all the times

That my example was a lie

 

I introduce you now

To myself, Jessica ______

I’m tired of wearing a mask

I want to be the Jessica that prays

 

So now’s the time to make things right

It’s time to uncover what’s within

I’m a servant of the LORD

Yet still I wrestle with sin

 

I’m not perfect, by no means

I’m a cutter and a rebel

But I admit all these things

I’m reaching a new level
