Changeling

Changeling

A Poem by Katie Foutz Voss
"

"
You might ask yourself
all the things not worth asking.
Has it really been so long,
so long that you've forgotten,
forgotten how to give up
the worst parts?
The answer doesn't matter.
Whichever way you look at it,
you've gone from one end
to the other.
It's not a lack of loyalty,
or a fickle, flawed heartbeat.
No, rather it is glorious--
you claim both black and white,
you touch darkness and day,
you shift from each to each
and love from shift to shift.
Don't quest for a solution
to this gift
of unconditional affection.
