Isolation

Isolation

A Poem by Jex

Its amazing how you can be surrounded in a room by many and still feel alone
Its amazing that everything can be good in your life and yet you are still alone
The barrier between you and me is nothing more then a clear filter that only I can see
You can try to penetrate this wall between you and me
Thought I don't imagine you will have much luck in doing so
Not even I have figured out how to break down that wall that stands before you and me
I stand here with my own worse enemy in silent suffering
Im not trying to me a martyr, but I don't know how to ask for help
So While The line is divided between you and me
Quietly I am drowning in my misery
I speak to you but you don't seem to hear me
Maybe its because of this clear filter that stands before you and me
Its getting harder to breathe everyday
Its exhausting to keep on trying everyday
I want to quit but I don't know how
Because even in isolation the demons lurk
Feeding hungrily on the turmoil within me
But life goes on
and Im out of time
So still I stand here alone
In isolation for the rest of eternity

The anguish and sorrow that follows when in middle of downpour of life's nuances, the rain representing melancholy dancing in the confetti with you chasing the horizons of new things. Throughout the poem you get the feeling the speaker is in denial trying to kid himself that if they can find that one good thing and all their problems and unhappiness will go away. But wants to desperately cling to the idea that if he can find that one good thing to fill the void, he can truly be happy. But at least part of him knows that's not very realistic. Marcus Aurelius said once " You've seen that. Now look at this. Don't be disturbed. Uncomplicated yourself. Someone has done wrong... to himself. Something happens to you. Good. It was meant for you by nature, woven into the pattern from the beginning. Life is short. That's all there is to say. Get what you can from the present-thoughtfully,justly. Unrestrained moderation." Keep writing sincerely your friend in poetry and life.:)

The exhaustion is what seems to get us and then there is the attempt to rid ourselves of the miserable situation on the one hand and to keep ourselves from quitting on the other. An interesting notion that the demons feed on the turmoil! Therein might be the way. Thanks for sharing. /Frederick.

This poem paints a very strong mood. Fortunately, I only have glimpses of this sort of mood in my personal life.

This feels like a train of thought. Like someone trying to work out how to convey a message to a potential lover. A warning or a challenge. I love the concept!
