Departure From Fear

Departure From Fear

A Poem by Jibbs
"

A mix of travel & life!

"
Today you decide you want to go on a trip.
You know your destination, you've known for a while now. You just didn't have the emotional funds. Now you do.

Go pack your bags.
You're going places today.
Make sure you bring your favorite smile.
Don't over-pack your brain with what-if's. Everything will be alright.

De-armor your heart for the security check point. Your body will be searched for wounds.
Good, they are all healed. Did you hear me? You're healed.
You're ready for this.

You sit until your name is called.
This is the last time you will sit, or wait.
People pass you by and you wonder where they are headed. What are they leaving behind? What are you leaving behind?
Remember... It's a one-way flight today.

Your name is called and all of a sudden you are on board.
On board for a brighter future.

Strap yourself in for the ride of your life. The ride that will take you to a brand new destination you've never been but always wanted to go. AWAY.

[Take off that fake smile]
.Take off.

You're weightless.
You're flying.
You look down and cannot make out any memories you are leaving behind.
... so, leave them behind.

Sit back and relax.
Soar over your fears.
There are no more clouds in your life.

Just never forget...

You're departure doesn't matter,
but your arrival does.
