Collecting the Girl

Collecting the Girl

A Poem by J

Umbrella-filled skies to catch blue rain

and loose-leaf paper dragons
sail through the arcane

Speeding cars fly by in colours and

shapes that hurt her eyes

It’s too easy to laugh when all she wants

is to cry

With no voice save her own
she sings to the music that floods her mind

and forgets all her manners

forgets to be kind. For the world is too noisy

to remember her lines

She scribbles love notes to the sea

on grocery lists and paper moons, and mails them

to the south of France

        pockets sewn up

with regret for having left

far too soon

And on tumbled shores of darkwater tide

and glass bottles under pressure of time

she is fluid and liquid and seaweed and brine

collecting her freedom, lost dreams

and promises

      to marry the sky

I was looking for something...I found it
"on tumbled shores of darkwater tide
and glass bottles under pressure of time
she is fluid and liquid and seaweed and brine
collecting her freedom, lost dreams
and promises
to marry the sky"
What I found, was a brilliant display of poetic tapestry saturated in rich emotive color.
Quite stunning to look at :)

This is so perfect that I'm not even sure what to say about it, other than it's going in my favourites.

Sigh....*Falls upon the soft grass and gazes to the stars*
Lady J, this was amazing! I'm uber excited to read fresh and beautifully crafted ink, brought to me from one of most poetic minds I know!
The imagery you capture from line to line pulls me through a weave of emotions, vision and deep thoughts. This is like a song, to be listened to by the soul itself, for the ears simply can't fathom it's rich and vast components in the fullest way.

I am blessed for my eyes to fall upon such a wonder. Thank you for sharing!

We have not been friends and I regret
Haveing missed so much , such as
this gorgeous poem from the heart,
a poem launched somewhere in the sky
, the sky that you are married too.
Beautiful, beyond words, beyond any
other poem. This is the one.

beautiful images like a watercolor painting. was a bit melancholy, but the language is equally beautiful. 'she is fluid and liquid and seaweed and brine...' something i can read when i'm feeling languorous.

So many honeyed phrases - not least the final phrase, make this memorable. You turn letters into crystal mists and more than magic.
