Masked Within

Masked Within

A Poem by MusefulRamblings

A mirrored apathy
In correspondence
To the hidden relics
Of tarnished memories.

Billowing in the winds of
Uncertainty
Lay the residual
Cracks of concrete

Drenched in the thick, black tar
Of old wounds
Past discrepancies
And insufferable mistakes

Time has now passed
But the pain still lingers on
In moments that replay
Constructing a never-ending loop
Of piercing images
Defining who I am

What I've become has been
Forged within masked
Hate
Deepening my scars
Both real and fake.

The internal tsunami
Has never ceased
The anxiety has only increased.

And I have been broken
Piece
by
Piece.
