Traced in Air;

Traced in Air;

A Poem by Jimi Brady
"

Playing with structure and emphasis.

"
She’s like the rain that precedes sunlight -
          Rain that makes vivid all
                                                             colours and thought,

          And she’s like the sunlight giving way to night -
                  A night basked in summer
                                                             moonlight and fog,
                And she’s like the way I take pen to parchment -
                        Ink tracing subtle curves and hands caressing

                                                            Where her heart is,

                                                             Heartstrings never rent -
                                                              Never have I meant
                                                               It like this and I’m trying

                                             To play and sing these notes I've written -
                                             Written like you wrote me that letter,

                                                         A song I’m singing that’s so much better -
                                                         Better because we’re singing it together

Love how you used the day and the night, the rain and the sun, to express that eternal tango of emotions we must go through... Sometimes our hopes makes us sing, and somethimes songs console our despair... Very well written sir !
