We Are The Wild Ones

We Are The Wild Ones

A Poem by Jocelyn Edelstein

We are the wild ones we've been waiting for
We are the children - the drums - the howling - the bleeding and the innocent darkness
We are contradiction and unpredictable decision
We are freewill, unity and division

We are the wild ones we've been waiting for
We are a feral contract formed by hungry Gods
We are a witnessing wisdom and a reactive force of nature
We are destroying and creating the true and the truer over and over

We are the wild ones we've been waiting for
And when we stop trying to pretend that we must be tamed, we will find the whole circle kind of lightning laughter, the bible's lascivious, lost chapter, the happily - unresigned to ever after

We are the ones we have been waiting for

Wild
Sweet
Gritty
Graceful

We are the Wild
And we shall wait No LONGER
