The Poet

The Poet

A Poem by John

THE POET

The poet is a delicate flower,
Flapping its fonds like mutilated arms,
Shaking its dandelion moon head
Till the head bursts when the moon is full
And sending wave after wave of white seed
Up into the air like ghostly jellyfish,
Which settle on other heads,
Which germinate in other heads,
Which bloom like a flower in another's mind
Like a poem.

You're very welcome.
I very much enjoyed the reference here to the humble dandelion and seed dispersal. Yes, my head can be like that at times. Full with the the starting lines of poems waiting to happen. Waiting to burst forth.
