A Fan

A Fan

A Poem by John
"

A

"
The lover's argot puts to shame
A friend's poor friendly words,
As the proud peacock's flirty fan
Outshines all other bird's.

But let the fan-tail stand erect
And waving feathers woo,
While the drab playmate feels a draught,
Imagining it's due.
