Feelings

Feelings

A Poem by Joie Ocampo
"

Entry for a contest!

"
Joy
Giggles tingling my throat
Smiles gracing my lips
Laughter floating in the air

Fear
Crunch of leaves as we run
Sticks breaking under each step
Not daring to look back

Terror
Shouts for us to stop
Tears escaping my eyes
Calls for a sister who can't answer

Pain
Blood fills my eyes
Cold metal in my stomach
Why, why us?

Sadness
Our parents cry salty tears
Sister and I cry with them
Please, just set us free.

Desperation
No, don't leave us forgotten
Don't let us stay here forever
Please, help us

Anger
How could they let him free
He was a murderer!
He'll kill other people and he's free?!

Rage
How come others can return
When they enter this forest?
Let's have fun sister.

Delight
Yes, it was fun, blood seeping on the floor
But it's not enough, we'll make them pay
They won't forget us anymore
