Just Keep Grinning.

Just Keep Grinning.

A Poem by Jon Buckley

Remarks that spark,

Anger in your heart.

The evil you that

Comes out in the dark.

Full of rage,

Dressed in black.

Breaking bones,

To watch your back.

You crouch down,

As you drop your hat.

Feel boots on your back,

You're an un-welcome mat.

Before you leave,

You turn and see.

People mock and scorn,

And curse so blindly.

There's not a place,

In this world you can escape.

Behind every door there's

Someone new bound to hate.

You've tried to act casual,

Dabbled with romance.

Failed at both,

By your own hand.

There's nothing left to do,

You'll just have to keep living.

And to the fools that hound you,

Just keep grinning.
