Black And Blue

Have you ever had the feeling of loving someone so much, they make your heart jump every time you hear their voice? This is what this poem is about.

My heart miraculously turns a shade of black and blue

Whenever my mind gets free time, and begins to think of you

You are elegant in every way, I feel like you are underestimated

Only because I believe you are more beautiful than this world that God created

You are my best friend, my foundation, and my shelter from the rain

Even though you cause it, you can so easily take away my pain

Turn off the lights, let’s spend this night together

I will make sure to stroke your face, and make you feel as weightless as a feather

You are my angel; I need to start treating you like one

I need to start acting like I am lost within a sea of black, and you are my only sun

The broken clock is a comfort, just for tonight, let’s pretend time doesn’t exist

Look into my eyes, and allow yourself to get stranded in the mist

I will be here to save you, don’t you ever feel alone

Because you are my girl, and the sweetest girl I have ever known

I want you to stay close to me, let’s not grow apart

I want to be able to breathe; I want to have a healing heart

Look at the stars, look how they shine for you

Because of all the little things that you never notice you do

When I tell you my feelings, I always thought you kind of knew

That every time you cross my mind, you turn my heart a different shade of black and blue

wow......my eyes are welling from the emotions lacing every word in this poem. It makes me realize how stupid all the guys are at my school and how much they don't appreciate a girl. Yes I know I'm only in highschool and guys aren't usually mature now, but I've met some that really are amazing guys and are years ahead of the 'regular' maturity. You have a gift in creating an intense feeling within the reader and you'll go far with it if you continue on.

Thank you for helping me re-asses what I want out of my life and what I want in a guy. Yes this sounds intensely corny, I'm sorry but you're too good to not be affected :)

Brilliantly shocking.. the title throws it in a direction that once reading not only stuns the reader .. but shows a depth of love that can be sooo true. Love can hurt and be pain.. cause us to become unstable, unfocused and confused too. It's like a balance that when things go wrong.. the pendulum swings towards that black and blue force.. our hearts pound not only at happy thoughts but also at the thought of loss. I hope the person this is written for understands the depth of your heart.. very brave to share such open feelings for another to such a large forum!

I really love this Jordan! The idea that your heart can turn black and blue from (I'm assuming) it beating so hard for that one girl is so sweet.

Those lines made me smile. You seem like quite the romantic and any girl would be lucky to have you! This was such a great poem :]
