Diagnosis

Diagnosis

A Poem by Josh121
"

An experiment

"
The doctor gives his diagnosis, the words terminal, deadly and inoperable float to ear
My heart pounds, my breath is shallow as my stomach drops through the floor
It's at that point that I know that death is near
How can I survive knowing I only have weeks to live?
How can I say what needs to be said and give all that I need to give?

Whew, you made your point with those short verses. Nicely done. I can feel just exactly what the person in this poem feels.

Pretty good, I think you summed up the feeling of the moment when a patient finds out they won't make it pretty well. I like the rhythm, and you kept it short but it still conveys that fateful moment.

well its a stark subject - with educated questions..maybe you could expand on the feelings as well as the facts.
