A Saint Never Lies

A Saint Never Lies

A Poem by Josh Anderson
"

I wrote this because I'm in a bad way right now, and writing is my avenue of expression

"
It's in between the wounds
That I made for you
A scar or a symbol
Meaningless or meaningful

I've made myself hurt
So I knew that I could
I could make it worse
But I know that I shouldn't
In between all the pain, is there a message you see
Written in tears, " Can anyone save me"

I'm not a bad man
Just leaning towards damned
With half of a soul
That's already sold

I sold it to you
To make ends meet
But I was the fool
You stole it from me
All I'm left with are scars
Where there used to be a heart

A Saint never lies
A man never cries
But I'm filled with tears and sin
A walking contradiction
