Life of Bibles and Loaded Guns

Life of Bibles and Loaded Guns

A Poem by Josh Anderson

All these lessons keep screaming out to me
In arrogance or denial, I'm just not listening
Not for lack of trying
I just can't stop my heart from beating

The roads I chose have led me here
Every scar, and every tear
The paths I chose, the cross I bear
Heaven or hell I'll see you there

If I fall will you pick me up
When's the point when you've had enough
Of the lies, of the mask I wear
Tell me part of you still cares

I'm not through, my race not run
This life of Bibles and loaded guns
I've been hurt, I've been damned
But it's made me who I am
