Upturned Eyes

Upturned Eyes

A Poem by Josh Anderson

With upturned eyes I seek release
The storms may end, the pain may cease
Nor cloud nor ash may befall my home
When I claim you as my very own

Though demons haunt me through my dreams
One scar for every time I bleed
With upturned eyes I seek your grace
To find redemption reflected in your face

With tears in eye I fall to my knees
How could I fall this far, God hear me please
With upturned eyes I see you smile
" Child you only strayed for a little while"
