Entropy

Entropy

A Poem by Solidad

Holding hands we run,
to the furthest corners of the earth,

Where we inevitably
run into doppelgangers from years past.

Laughing about h[e]artbreak;
pressing together our bubble gum lips.

I can taste the abuse
permeating from your black-toothed grin.

Yet we mingle with persecutions
and those who've crowned us

With thorns
and thrones alike.

This was like time travel and hopping through dimensions all at the same time. Coming face to face with the incarnations of our pasts is a thing that is both bittersweet, but having that pillar of support gives us the courage to face anything in our futures.

coming face to face with back there from over there bleeds so profoundly into today~ my heart felt this~ skipped a solid beat~and went on with the pulse of embracable minds that know how to travel every terrain within and without~such as yours~ breathtaking, solid imagery~

I don't get to run into my past too much but when I do it is not a good feeling as some things are better left as forgotten memories than blarring you right in the face!

OMG Soli! This one was a whip: I could see it airborne, coiling. I could hear it screaming toward me. The last two lines were a deafening Crack!

A stunning and memorable piece.

Running into our past can be heartbreaking and joyful. Running into someone who reminds us of our past can be both heartbreaking and joyful because it reminds us of how far we have come. Excellent write.
