A Seer

A Seer

A Poem by Jouni Sakari
"

What is the problem with a prophet , or a seer ?

"

A SEER

He was fast
in growing seeds rapidly in his mind
to sieve
whether they turned out unproductive,
or fruitful.

I don't know if he was impatient ( a little perhaps ) with others
because they were just choosing some seeds
by their feel,
and he had already found out what worked,
and what did not.
so did he mention that already ?

There was absolutely no confusion in his garden
but, was it Confucius ? ( we don't know )
and he could do all the weighing and zooming anew
in a second anyway, if there was or wasn't.

Just like that.

But the end result of all this was, many times,
that there always emerged
a subtle uncertainty
between two equally good ( or equally bad )
choices.

He couldn't foresee
on which seed
the first water drop would fall.
