Take a Trip

Take a Trip

A Poem by Jqjohnson

Step into the theater
Tell me, what do you see
You are the story, I am the reader
Escape your thoughts, let imagery run free

Whats that
You don't know where to begin
Take my hand
I'll guide you through this magical land

Take a seat in the canoe
Glide on the water with me
Between the outstretching reeds, sail through
Become one with this foreign see

Let the waters take you
Slowly into the open mouth
It's dark in here
Cold, damp atmosphere

A lantern among darkness
Welcoming sight of the moon
This divine messenger is an artist
Out of the boat and over the dune

Have you found your way
I could leave you here now
Maybe one more stop
Into the enchantment shop

Push open the wooden door
Seek out the shaman
He'll have something for you to explore
He's led a thousand men

I must travel back to reality
You can continue forth
Don't be afraid
This is how memory's made

Once you come back to me
Tell me your story
Meet me by the old oak tree
Let go of the senseless worry

The journey is yours to create
Don't let my parting stop you now
Turn off the restless mind
Finish this task you are assigned

Enjoyed this poem very much. Could picture myself stepping into that canoe and going where the adventure took me.

Very, creative and fun poem. I could definitely see the picture being painted.
